The Ketchikan Community Concert Band (KCCB), which has been in existence since 2002, is a non-profit governed by a board of nine members.  We are a group of people who love music and love sharing it with others: performing 2 major concerts a year, with a few smaller performances scattered in there.

The KCCB meets during the spring and fall semesters, taking the summer off. We rehearse each Monday night from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at our new practice studio at 2417 Tongass Ave Ste 212 in The Plaza.

KCCB actively seeks to support and foster the love of instrumental music in the youth of our community.

First, our concerts are free of charge to any young person 18 years of age or under. We hope this will encourage lots of our youth to attend the concerts. Of course, it doesn’t hurt if they bring a parent too!

Second, we help put instruments in the hands of kids.  We seek donations of unused band instruments that may be lurking in the back of a closet or basement; and partnering with McPherson Music, the donated instruments are fully reconditioned to first class shape. They are then made available to the elementary schools for use by students that are not able to afford an instrument of their own. Currently, we have over 18 instruments placed in four schools.
